Traffic modification on Lekki-Epe Expressway

One would have thought that the troubling and almost perpetuated traffic jam on the Lekki-Epe express way would disappear after the road modification but this does not seem to be the case as motorist have to spend hours than before just to travel between their homes and their places of work.

The road conversion from a roundabout to a crossing does not seem to be a good solution as some who are affected have given their opinions about what should have been a good solution.

Typically, the reason behind the modification is to reduce the impact vehicles from the adjoining roads have on the major roads but to make the roads an intersection would more than likely cause more traffic build up as traffic from different directions including those making U turns will no doubt affect traffic on the major road.

Opinions say that what should have been a good solution is to ensure that no vehicle is allowed to make any sort of intersection including a U turn. All vehicles making to intersect the major road should have been directed to run along and make a turn similar to the turn provided at the Lekki Conservation Toll plaza. These turns are expected to be constructed midway before the next major junction and will not slow down oncoming traffic.

Opinions are welcome as I believe that it is still very early now to make these improvements since all the residents in this part of Lagos depend solely on the Lekki-Epe express road for all business/personal related traffic
